After working on the plane to bootstrap the new UI in the Bringcast 3 codebase, Mark and I coded until around 1AM last night. We resumed this morning and here is a peak at some of the progress. Note we won’t be revealing the full UI until the beta is ready to go so this is less than half the progress so far 😉
Working so far:
- New navigation framework, some of the new animations
- Beginnings of new status UI
- Play / Pause
- Sync, Sync progress hooked up to status UI
- Podcast library browsing
- Podcast search
Mark is going about twice as fast as me 😉
This is the state of the BringCast 3 UI redesign as of 5:01PM at SEATAC airport.
Short story: Bringcast 3 beta has been delayed. The reason is that we decided to keep the engine but throw away the whole UI and replace with a nice fresh new one. You can thank @tlowdermilk for that 😉
The status of the new UI is that we have 5 prototypes and one we like more than the others. We are about to start refining it this weekend.
We will be posting more updates over the weekend including some screen shots of the designs that were rejected.
